Upcoming: Cookies

Hey all. October is National Cookie Month AND National Book Month. I love both cookies and books, so that makes this a good month. Anyway, Great American Cookies is giving away free chocolate chip cookies from 10am-2pm on October 1st. Check out the site for participating locations.

Kobari Beef

My first freeating entry is a pretty good one. Panda Express just introduced a new entree: Kobari Beef. And for one day only (today only), they're giving away a free Kobari Beef entree to anyone with a coupon available at their site. No strings attached, no "with purchase." Just a free serving. I got a serving, and it's not bad. Not very spicy, but some nice strong onions in it, and I love the mushrooms. Probably not enough to unseat the tofu dish in terms of deliciousness for me, but I wouldn't be opposed to eating it again.

What is Freeating?

I suppose it's necessary to start this journal with a definition of "Freeating." Freeating is simply free eating, a term coined by comedy duo Hamish and Andy. The rules of the game are simple.

1.) No buying food. That's fairly obvious. If you buy it, then it's not free.

2.) No stealing food. It's cheating, it's against the law, it's wrong.

3.) Can't be given food. As in, you can't have friends or family feeding you or otherwise helping out. Everything you eat must be free for the general public.

4.) Can't use the same tactic twice. Once you've had your free food, move on. In other words, no hoarding samples at the store, no signing up for the same thing twice under two names, or going to different locations to pick one free thing from each place. You get one, and that's it. Caveat for this journal - if a deal is offered again in the future (e.g. annual free ice cream day), it's allowable.

And there it is, simple as that. This journal is just a chronicle of my adventures in free food. Maybe you'll find it interesting?
